FLU PANDEMIC

Although the "swine flu" infection levels within Northern Ireland remain low, the University of Ulster is aware of the potential for large public gatherings to facilitate the transmission of the virus.

We have made a decision to go ahead with Open Week as planned but would urge all schools, and those attending the open days to fully comply with all existing Government recommendations concerning the actions to be taken to limit viral transmission between individuals.

• Always carry tissues.
• Use clean tissues to cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.
• Bin the tissue after use.
• Wash your hands often with soap and hot water or a sanitiser gel.
