| Placement Access Awards | To facilitate short-term unpaid placements where hardship would be an obstacle to participation. Hardship will be interpreted in the broadest sense, but financial hardship must be a factor. At least 6 awards for PGCE students. | International Placement Travel Award | A single scholarship of £1,000 will be awarded to facilitate travel to undertake a placement outside the UK and Ireland, where hardship would be an obstacle to participation (as above). Apply using application form. | One | £1,000 |
| Tutoring in Schools | £500 will be awarded to all Education minor students undertaking the Tutoring in Schools module, whose TIS placement activity is undertaken at either a Step-Up school or one of three East Belfast primary schools (Beechfield, St Matthews, Nettlefield ). PGCE students on placement in these schools also qualify. | Guaranteed to each student meeting criteria | £500 |
| Community Outreach | Open to all non-final year students undertaking a placement or a project with a clear benefit to local communities or sections of NI society, with the emphasis on targeting disadvantage. The sole criterion for awards is the impact on the community or targeted group. Apply using application form. | At least four | £1,000 |
| International Development | At least one award will be available to applicants undertaking placements or projects in support of developing countries or communities abroad. The impact on, or benefit to, the targeted community will be the main criterion for awards. Apply using application form. | Up to four | £1,000 |
