Tuition Fees

Tuition fees
Since 2006/07, a new package of student finance arrangements will allow you to "study now and pay later". You will not be required to pay any tuition fees up-front and can get assistance with living expenses - in other words, the total cost of your university education can be deferred until after you leave university.

Most students starting full-time higher education courses in 2006/07 were charged the new "variable" or "top-up" tuition fee of £3,000 by most universities. This will increase (in line only with inflation) to £3,145 for 2008/09.

You will NOT have to pay tuition fees if you are intending to study for one of the following courses:

  • Dietetics
  • Nursing
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Podiatry
  • Physiotherapy
  • Radiography
  • Speech and Language Therapy

In addition, students enrolled on Foundation Degrees, Associate Bachelor's Degrees and Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) will pay lower rates of tuition fee. We have provisionally set the rates for 2008/09 as follows:

  • Foundation Degrees - £2100
  • Associate Bachelor's Degrees
and Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) - £1,255
